From a basic tool to a trust revolution: Certifier most significant upgrade yet.

January 31, 2024

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the latest version of the Certifier tool, a complete, modern and intuitive platform developed to redefine how users certify and host files. Whether you're a large organization needing enterprise-grade document guarantees or a solo professional looking to secure critical files, Certifier makes it easier than ever to leverage decentralized trust, digital authenticity, and intelligent file control.  Check out the full demo video here 📽️

🔍 What Is Certifier?

Certifier is a next-generation web application powered by BLOOCK’s digital trust infrastructure. It empowers users to apply security features to their documents in a visual, guided interface. At its core, the new Certifier will help you in much more that certifying by letting you explore a wide suite of powerful features, including:

(1) Decentralized Timestamping. This creates a tamper-proof record of when a file was created or modified generating undeniable evidence of timestamping.

(2) Digital Signatures. This component ensures the authenticity and authorship of records or of digital interactions.

(3) Decentralized File Storage. This ensures documents remain accessible over time and resistant to censorship, outages, or single points of failure.

(4) Robust Encryption & Access Control. This protects records from unauthorized access, which is crucial for handling sensitive data, maintaining privacy, and enforcing user-specific permissions

This version of Certifier is tailored for testing and prototyping—allowing users to simply drag and drop one or more files, customize the certification steps via an interactive form, and simulate the end-to-end process of securing records with our technology stack.

🧠 Why does this upgrade matters

In today’s fast-moving digital world, data integrity, authenticity, and availability are no longer optional—they are essential. Certifier provides a real-world playground where developers, legal teams, product managers, and security professionals can explore technology in a completely no-code, visual way. Whether you're building trust into records, ensuring long-term file accessibility, or securing sensitive information from unauthorized access, Certifier helps you test how each layer of trust and control works—before you deploy it in production.

And there’s one more thing…. It is not only the tooling that has been upgraded! We’ve redefined our blockchain timestamping protocol, taking it a step further by incorporating the publication of state transitions in a fully distributed environment. The result? Users now have complete control: they can freely access data, synchronize, and verify the integrity of their information autonomously, without relying on centralized platforms, closed APIs, or private infrastructures. Everything happens in the open, as it should be.

With this evolution, we break down centralization barrieres. Now, every state transition is transparently and decentralized published on IPFS, a p2p system that ensures permanent availability and resistance to censorship. This means anyone, from anywhere, can retrieve the data, rebuild their certification proof, and verify it with complete independence. No permissions. No intermediaries. No blind trust.

This upgrade improve performance and scalability through the use of shards and rollups but also represents a major leap toward a truly decentralized infrastructure. A model where each user owns their data, every verification is autonomous, and every proof is as accessible as it is trustworthy. This isn’t just a technical upgrade; it’s a statement of principles. This is how the future of verification in Web3 is being built.

Now, let’s get back to Certifier visual tool, your opportunity to test out our exciting upgrade:

🧩 A Closer Look: Certifier step-based workflow

Discover how Certifier's streamlined, step-based workflow simplifies the certificate creation and management process. From setup to delivery, each step is designed to guide you efficiently while ensuring accuracy and customization at every stage.

Step 1: Document immutability via decentralized timestamping. At this stage, you can activate the decentralized timestamping solution by selecting a checkbox. This feature ensures the immutability of your document by anchoring a cryptographic hash of the file onto multiple blockchain networks. This ensures document integrity over time by anchoring data across multiple blockchains for redundancy and guarding it against tampering and fraud.

Step 2: File originality through digital signatures. Once timestamping is configured, you will move on to enabling digital signatures, which verify the origin and integrity of the document. By embedding signature metadata directly into the file, Certifier creates a new, cryptographically unique version of the original. You are granted the possibility of utilizing your own private keys or X.509 certificates whether cloud managed by BLOOCK or locally hosted. By enabling this feature, you can guarantee the originality of your records.

Step 3: Utmost availability with descentralized storage. Once integrity and authenticity options are selected, Certifier offers you a choice of how and where to store their files. The tool supports IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) for distributed, censorship-resistant storage and centralized hosting managed in EU servers for certain PII information that requires secure access criteria. This feature guarantees that certified files remain accessible long after the certification process is complete.

Step 4: Privacy and access control through encryption. In the final step, Certifier allows you to encrypt your records, providing an unbreakable layer of privacy and access control. Only those with the appropriate keys or certificates will be able to decrypt and access the file content. Encryption uses the same underlying cryptographic architecture as the signature process, ensuring a seamless security experience from start to finish. This is perfectly suited for safeguarding sensitive data in order to comply with privacy regulations and to manage privacy-sensitive use cases.

After completing all configuration steps, you can finalize the certification process. Records that were timestamped will enter a "Pending" status, which transitions to "Success" once the blockchain transaction is confirmed—typically within about one minute. Once complete, Certifier provides you with access to a detailed results screen, which includes a general summary of certification activities and different tabs with in-depth technical details for each selected option. All of this ensures transparency and auditability, making Certifier an invaluable tool for compliance, trust, and recordkeeping.

🧭 Keep an eye on us…

This is just the beginning! In the upcoming videos and updates, we’ll be unveiling a new cutting edge validation page. It’s part of a broader vision to make trust and transparency programmable and accessible to all.
